Ok.. You have saved a few nutritional panel images of similar foods for comparison

Here we have 3 images of soy milk products. The images are all based on 100 ml, so we are comparing 'apples with apples'.
They all look pretty healthy actually.

So, what are we looking for in comparing nutritional panels?

The following is one person's opinion.

"Personally, I like the taste of the top item, but it is obviously not as healthy as the 'all green' (item 2).I'll continue to choose item 1 on the basis that I like the taste. I used to buy item 3..."

So, what's should we do when comparing nutritional panels?

  • If it's confusing, use this web site to generate a Nutritional Panel image
  • Use the visual clues to make an informed decision
  • The colours say everything!
  • Don't stop eating your favourite snack, but UNDERSTAND what you are eating and the AMOUNT you are eating (the portion size).

Do you like BBQ sauce or Tomato Sauce?

Remember, you are unlikely to eat 100 grams of sauce, but the comparison between the 2 sauces is correct because they are both the same portion size. Basically for each squirt of sauce, there are TWICE as many kilojoules in BBQ sauce.

But wait! there's more...Here's the image of my homemade tomato sauce
